Hello,
so I have a problem with the scanning on the HP Photosmart C3180 multifunction printer. Every time I try to scan, a message appears: "A communication error occurred with the scanning device. Please check that the scanning device is properly connected and try again." Yet everything is connected and properly plugged in. In fact, the image starts to appear and then this message shows up. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help.
Otherwise, the copy and print functions work well.

    Hello,

    Have you now checked if the "Windows Image Acquisition" service is running?

    If you don't know how to do it, follow the steps below:

    1°) Right-click on Computer, then select Manage. The Computer Management window opens.
    2°) In the Computer Management window, click on the plus (+) sign next to Services and Applications.
    3°) In the list under Services and Applications, select Services.
    4°) Right-click on Windows Image Acquisition in the right part of the window.
    5°) Select Properties.
    6°) Set the Startup Type to Manual or Automatic if it doesn't work with Manual.
