Printing issue: copy on HP OfficeJet 3831 Windows 10

Hello,

I needed to copy an A4 document as I often do. But this printer… showed an error message after kindly giving me a blank page, saying: The paper size detected by the printer does not match the size selected for the Print Job. Please ensure the paper size is correct to continue or touch "cancel" to cancel the print. No way to print. If I start a new Copy, the printer flickers and seems to be thinking about the Higgs boson or about quadrature of the circle. In the settings displayed on the printer’s screen, in the Paper and Tray menu it says 10x15 cm Photo paper. That doesn’t mean anything to me since I’ve never printed a photo and when printing documents they come out normally as chosen in the settings, i.e. A4. So it only fails when selecting the Copy option on the display panel. Does anyone have a solution to propose to resolve this mystery because I’m currently forced to scan the document I just want to copy in order to manage the print. Thanks in advance.

    hello,

    It depends whether the copy is made from the computer or from the printer's keys..?

    So if the original is in paper format A4, the paper setting used must also be A4 for the printer settings; whether in the computer setup or in the printer menu setup..... and nothing else.

    Of course, the white paper toner should also be A4 and not "US letter"...

    So, check all that...

      First of all, thank you for your two replies. The problem comes solely from the printer panel, which displays a 10x15 photo paper format, which does not correspond to anything for me since I have always scanned, copied, and printed on A4 sheets as specified in the printing settings. By the way, when I pressed "copy" on the printer panel, everything worked normally until this unexpected change. And I can't modify this format at all on the printer panel. Apart from that, all drivers are up to date.

    check if there are any updates with the drivers, I had this problem with my Brother, it wouldn’t scan or print. first I unplugged the Freebox, there was an update to the box and after that I downloaded the new drivers for my printer and voila everything works again!! good luck
