It's generally the opposite because Windows by default recognizes a number of printers but not the scanner, but in any case, it's a matter of drivers although we were not told which version of Windows and where we are scanning from (printer or PC).
Epson usually requires that drivers and software be installed before connecting, after which it prompts you to connect and choose the mode, USB or Wi-Fi.
Uninstall the printer and its software if there is any, then download these drivers and software and start from scratch as indicated.
