Hello,

I’ve learned that Microsoft is asking to uninstall a recent update that is causing some serious issues on certain computers.

I do have this update: Windows > System > System Information > Operating system build > 26200.7623

So far, I haven’t encountered any problems with my PC.

Would it still be preferable to uninstall this update?

Thank you in advance.

Thierry

Hello, which specific update are you referring to? If you believe it doesn’t cause any issues, you can keep it. If it's a very recent update, you might want to wait for the release of a series of fixes to install; these could cover and resolve the problems caused by the previous update.

Hello,

It's a striking shortcut.

Since we're talking about 26200, it's a Windows 11 update, the cumulative one from January, which is a habit, having been documented to cause certain specific issues.

https://support.microsoft.com/fr-fr/topic/13-janvier-2026-kb5074109-builds-du-syst%C3%A8me-d-exploitation-26200-7623-et-26100-7623-3ec427dd-6fc4-4c32-a471-83504dd081cb

Microsoft hasn't specifically asked to uninstall it, but that was the only solution for those suffering from the specific issues in question, and only for those individuals.

In the past tense since Microsoft has since released, and it's regularly available on Windows Update, a fix that resolves these malfunctions.
