Hello,

My PC was slow so I wanted to reset it using Windows.

I selected "remove everything"

Being careful to check the option to reinstall Windows.

Now it starts but shows a black screen. Can someone please guide me on what to do?

This is my first post on this forum, I don't know if I need to provide more details about the hardware, maybe I'll put them in the replies.

Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming B550M Plus WiFi II

Graphics card: GeForce 1050 Ti 4GB

    Equipped with 2x 16GB DDR4 RAM

    Windows 11

    Hello,

You need to reinstall Windows with a bootable USB drive; resetting it doesn't actually "reinstall" it, as it relies on the same database that may already be corrupted.

Do you know how to use the UEFI BIOS? Have you ever updated it? Does the BIOS display at startup to confirm a software issue?

I have never used it myself, I think I updated it for my graphics card, and the BIOS doesn't display :(.

But if I haven't extracted my Windows key, will I have lost it permanently?

No, the license is tied to the motherboard and Microsoft account.

On your motherboard, there are 4 LEDs that indicate hardware problems. With Windows, if you force the PC to shut down several times, the recovery mode launches, if it's just a software issue.

What kind of internal storage do you have?

I have a 1TB HDD, but I no longer know the brand. The LED that usually indicates if there is a problem is normally green and white.

We don't use HDD for the system, it's too slow.

The LEDs are in front of BOOT; VGA; etc... you need to read the manual of your motherboard available on the website and operate according to the diagnostics.

to access the BIOS, it should be the DELETE key or F2

check if you have access to the BIOS

    see you later

    Hi

Without knowing which version of the BIOS is currently installed, leave it alone.

I don't know why the PC doesn't restart normally after a reset.

Do you have data to keep, or can you reinstall Windows on the PC?

    See you later

through the advanced options by holding down the left SHIFT key and restarting the PC
