Texture issues in Enshrouded

Hello, I own a megaport pc purchased in 2022 with the following configuration: - amd ryzen 5 3600 - gigabyte rtx 3060 vision oc 12gb (I installed it this morning, the previous one was a gtx 1660 super) - 32 gb ddr4 - 1 tb SSD - msi a520m pro motherboard - 600 watt power supply I replaced the gtx 1660 super with an rtx 3060 this morning. In the game Enshrouded that I am currently playing, the texture detail was set to quality and with the rtx 3060, it is set to maximum quality. Despite this, the textures are still a bit muddy, and some elements in the scenery are missing on the ground, like the large-leafed succulents for which here is a screenshot taken somewhere:   My textures are much less nice than in the image, I’m a bit disappointed, is it due to the graphics card or am I making bad settings? Hello The "lack" of textures does not come from the card; at least, you can quickly see this in the task manager under the "GPU" tab if the embedded memory is saturated, with the "memory usage" graph at the bottom. The power of the GPU will have an impact on the number of frames per second generated depending on the level of detail requested based on the game's resource demands. The question is more about the "capture somewhere". First, make sure you are at exactly the same spot on the map; textures vary. If that is indeed the case, contact the video's publisher directly via comment or email; if it's an individual on YT with not many views, it will often be quick. Already done ;-) They can then provide all the graphical settings used so you can replicate everything on your side. Also, ask if any graphical mods have been added. If it's the publisher themselves, make sure it isn't a preview version, as we were disappointed by Ubisoft during the sadly legendary presentation of Watch Dogs at E3 2012 (link to the recap). Hello, If you don't know anything about graphic settings, with the NVIDIA panel, let the applications decide, just enable G-Sync if your monitor is compatible. Once in the game, enable DLSS and disable ray tracing when your performance is low.

Hello Winux, Thank you for your response and for your wise advice. What is G-Sync? (It's activated in my game). However, I looked into it and I'm a bit disappointed because my RTX 3060 is not DLSS compatible; I should have bought an RTX 4060 instead, especially since I just saw that it consumes 55 watts less than the RTX 3060. If I'd known, I would be so upset... Besides that, having set many of the graphic details to maximum (including textures) and playing at 1080p, I cap around 60 fps. However, I noticed that some texture options are only available depending on the graphics card. When I had my old GTX 1660 Super, the max quality option for textures wasn't available, but with the RTX 3060, it appeared and I was able to activate it. G-Sync or FreeSync is the adaptive refresh rate of the screen that synchronizes with the number of FPS of the game. This is activated outside of the game, and should not be confused with V-Sync. DLSS is available from the RTX 2xxx series, it's DLSS 4 with Frame Generation that you don't have. Textures depend on the amount of video memory, which is particularly useful for very high resolutions to avoid losing detail, but unnecessary sometimes at Full HD.

Thank you for your response, Winux. On my RTX 3060, I have 12 gigabytes of VRAM. I had a bit of trouble installing it due to its size, especially since it's a bit heavy and I already have a big Noctua heatsink installed on my small MSI A520M Pro motherboard, so I placed a vertical support under the graphics card. The 3600 was a CPU of choice for all mid-range gaming setups before the Ryzen 5xxx, but the 5060ti is already more CPU-hungry than what was available at the time. It depends more on the resolution; at 1440p or higher, the 3600 is sufficient. Not "ideal," but the bottleneck isn't significant enough to justify a purchase. If you don't know much about power supplies: A power supply is used to convert alternating current from 110 to 230 volts from the mains into 12 volts, 5 volts, and 3.3 volts of direct current related to amperage for watts. A quality power supply can actually be more powerful in real watts than a budget one. I did some fishing, and I came across a legendary-level corruption gem. I embedded it into my two-handed axe, and when I hit an enemy, it triggers explosions and deals quite a bit of extra damage...

I have grass again in Enshrouded via Geforce Now, I modified the graphics settings and changed DLAA to DLSS, the latest version. I tested the cinematic rendering in the Geforce Now settings, and visually the game looks better, I’m savoring it. Hello Winux, Yes, I saw that the recommended configuration for Eldergleam was with an rtx 4070 ti, yikes... I managed to eliminate the texture flickering by fiddling with the game files and the Engine.ini file based on tutorials I found online. Would using codes with the console risk glitching the game at some point and creating additional bugs? I found out how to obtain some spells; they are self-made, for very difficult unlocks, indeed, and since I’m level 100 in all magic skills I was able to create crazy combined spells, I named them: statue of ice (ice and paralyze for 15 seconds), flames of hell, hunter mode (summoning bow, Night Vision, stealth, camouflage, etc..), assassin mode in the same vein, and more.

I played another round this afternoon but not for long, I had huge stutters, unstable connection, but it happens very rarely.

There was a time (more than 20 years ago) when I played with a desktop in a mezzanine that was my room, I also played during heatwaves, and I had installed software to monitor the CPU and GPU temperatures, and the GPU at one point showed more than 110 degrees, then there was a black screen with lots of large colored squares and the PC shut down.

I managed to turn it back on later. I subsequently installed a large copper heatsink with a fan in the middle on the graphics card ( Zalman brand heatsink) and I lost almost 70 degrees, that makes a difference.

The fan in my laptop is functioning normally again, which is odd... I was able to transfer all my files to an external SSD.

I'm doing fine.

I take my captures under Windows with the Xbox Series controller's button on my semi-gaming PC on Dragonsword. With the weather back to normal, I can heat up my PC, but I have to convert the images for CCM.

When I played Palworld on Xbox, I could transfer using a USB stick from the Xbox to a PC and post on CCM.

By the way, I managed to get a transport voucher to pass the warranty on this one since it's broken; I have to take it to a certified UPS Access Point next week. Microsoft's support was very responsive, which is good to know.

On Bazzite for Geforce Now on my laptop, there is an issue updating the Linux beta app; I’m waiting for a patch. I couldn't play Palworld under good conditions and without controller support in Firefox.

If you want to take screenshots on Geforce Now, there should be a key or shortcut for that, I think. I'll check later.
