Hello,

This update won't install and keeps going in circles, and especially slows down the PC drastically at startup.

I have tried everything

Deleting the update...impossible since it isn't fully installed.

Windows Update troubleshooting tools.

The sfc....dism commands.

Manually installing the update.

Even Recovery Reset message impossible to reset Windows!!!

If you have a solution, thank you in advance.

Hello,

Download the Windows 11 ISO file
https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/software-download/windows11

When you have the ISO file, right-click > Open with > Windows Explorer

Then click on the setup.exe file

Follow the instructions to "install" without deleting everything, make sure the boxes indicating that you are keeping everything are checked.

Thank you for the reply.

Isn't it the same thing that I did through the reset recovery?

? You reset it despite the message unable to reset Windows!!!

With the ISO, you can reinstall using the setup.exe from the mounted ISO

Or via a USB drive through the PC's Boot Menu, a drive prepared with Rufus, by wiping everything, but we're not at that point yet.

Hello,

Some sources suggest that this update may be corrupted in Windows Update and offer a solution for this.

@fabul StatutModérateur I should have written I tried to reset Windows until I got the message unable to reset.

@ brucine Thank you for the link Troubleshoot problems using Windows Update, that’s what I did but I didn’t do the manual management of the MSU package.

In the end, I think I'm going to wait for a new Windows update since I see that many of us are having the same problem with that pesky kb 5072033. (I have paused updates for 2 weeks)

Or another solution, hide it with wushowhide.diagcab

It's true that they haven't been very talkative.

Uninstallation via DISM of the faulty KB:

https://forums.ivanti.com/s/article/How-to-Uninstall-Windows-Updates-Using-Dism?language=en_US

Reinstalling it from Microsoft Update Catalog, you download it and click like for any other software which bypasses Windows Update.

But the solution in response <1> should work, unless Microsoft is still tangled up with this update.

Thank you all for your messages.

I'm going to wait two weeks to see if Microsoft releases a fix.

I have to say that I'm not a pro and complicated tasks are a bit intimidating.

Good evening & best wishes,

Without conviction, in manual mode:

Download and try to install.

Good evening,

This is exactly the solution I proposed in <4> then <7> and which of course will only work if the culprit is Windows Update or a corrupted update that has been distributed by Microsoft.
