Brave Linux "unlock the keyring"
Winux -
Hello,
I have a recent installation of Linux Mint 22.3, I use Brave as my browser and upon launching it, a "unlock the keyring" window appears, and I have to cancel it several times to close it. Is there a solution to permanently get rid of it, especially since I have never entered any keys.

There are Linux distributions better suited for home theater, smart TVs, or even gaming:

The choice of a Linux distribution for a "Home Cinema" (HTPC) mainly depends on the use you want to make of it: a simplified interface controlled by a remote (console-type) or a versatile PC connected to your television.
Here are the best options for 2026 according to your profile:
1. For a 100% dedicated box (Simplified interface)
If you want your PC to boot directly into a media interface without seeing the Linux desktop, these "Just Works" distributions are ideal.
-
LibreELEC: This is the absolute reference. It is a minimalist system whose only purpose is to run Kodi. It is ultra-lightweight, very stable, and perfect for devices like the Raspberry Pi or mini-PCs (NUC).
-
OSMC: Similar to LibreELEC but based on Debian, which allows easier installation of background software (download server, home automation) while keeping an optimized Kodi interface.
2. For versatility and 4K HDR (Multimedia PC)
If you have a powerful PC and also want to browse the web or play games, a classic distribution with a modern desktop environment is preferable.
-
Kubuntu (or any distribution with KDE Plasma): In 2026, KDE Plasma 6.2+ is the best environment for Home Cinema thanks to its excellent support for Wayland and HDR. It allows scaling of the interface so that it is readable from 3 meters away.

Bazzite: Originally designed for gaming (like SteamOS), it is excellent for an HTPC as it offers a "Game Mode" similar to that of the Steam Deck, ideal for launching Plex, Kodi, or controller-based games.

Hello
The keyring seems to be the backup file for the passwords
try with your user or root passwords
A little clarification: this PC is connected to the TV in my living room; I use it to watch YouTube videos (ad-free) and movies via VLC, that's all it's used for. I don't have a physical keyboard on it and I use the on-screen keyboard, but with the on-screen keyboard, I can't input anything in this window.
Right now, I've set it to start automatically, without entering a password, and I think that's where the issue lies. However, it's the same if I leave the classic startup mode with a password on the login screen; I don't have access to the on-screen keyboard...
