Hello,

For about 10 days now, every PDF that I try to print with Adobe Reader is automatically printed in a area of 215.9 x 279.4 mm (it's also indicated on the right in the preview visible in the print dialog).

Even when selecting 100% scale.

The paper size is clearly A4 21 x 29.7 cm and the same goes for the documents I create in A4 format in OpenOffice before saving them as PDF.

These same documents, already printed before this problem, did not have the same preview!

It's like this on my Windows 8.1 64-bit computer. I updated Adobe Reader and nothing changed.

It's the same on my partner's computer, Windows 11.

If someone could help, that would be great because I've looked a lot but can't find anything!

The page format of your PDF is displayed if you place the mouse cursor in the bottom left corner (temporarily) on the page shown on the screen.
Check what is indicated.
If the format is not A4, you must look at the PDF printer settings from the control panel (printer properties).

Thank you, I’ll look at that tonight, I’m not at home.

What’s for sure is that I always create A4 files in OpenOffice (which I then always save as PDF for printing with Adobe).

And even when they are, for example, downloaded PDF files, I didn’t have this problem before with those same files!

I downloaded PDF-XChange Editor about 15 days ago, I wonder if that’s related?

In any case I find many topics on the Internet but no resolution.

215.9 x 279.4 mm is the Letter format

If this is what's declared as the default format, it is used by the PDF conversion tool you are using.

Acrobat Reader is not to blame. It happens at the moment of the PDF conversion. Check the paper size in the PDF printer.

For me everything is in A4.
And Open Office saves my A4 files as PDF A4: I can verify it on old documents that I kept, on which I now encounter the problem but I hadn't encountered before.

Well. It’s completely incomprehensible!

I was going to take screenshots, and I told myself, "I’m going to print at 100% to see exactly what it looks like despite the shaded areas at the top and bottom of the document in the preview" (which were cutting the document).
And there, no problem with the print!
I tried to print again, and there in the preview, perfect, the right size and no longer 215.9 x 279.4 mm!!
I’m going to check on my partner’s computer to see if it’s the same because there was the same problem.
But since then I’ve been printing everything in "Fit" (Adjust).

Hi there,

My boyfriend printed as well with his computer yesterday, so the problem isn’t there anymore...
I don’t understand anything and I can’t even attach screenshots!! I’m gutted but at the same time glad that the problem is fixed...
I’ll see about marking the problem as resolved.
