Hello,
what is your opinion on the reliability of Trustpilot and similar platforms? Can we trust their ratings blindly when buying from new (or less new?) sites?
I fear that everything is manipulable today.

Thank you for your feedback

Hello,

None of these sites are reliable, that one in particular has been called out for engaging in paid commercial practices by professionals.

Sometimes we get more credible results when the review is conditioned on verified purchase (for example, some restaurant review sites) AND when the number of reviews is large enough to limit bad faith or manipulation by competitors.

It's essential to stick to commercial sites with a certain reputation, within the EU, check the legal notices, and exclude anything that is highlighted on social media...

Any site with abnormally low prices is also questionable, compare the price of the desired item across multiple sites.

yes, reviews with verified purchase, it's a way to avoid unpleasant surprises. You just have to be careful

Hello everyone,

As brucine writes, whom I greet...

It is especially important to stick to reputable commercial sites within the EU, check the legal notices, and exclude everything prominently highlighted on social media...

I never use social media to get an idea of the products I am going to buy.

Hello,

Never trust ratings blindly! On Trustpilot, the most important thing is to look at the date of the reviews. If you see 50 five-star reviews all posted in the same week for a new site, it's fake reviews bought in bulk. You should always go read the one and two-star reviews; that's where you'll see the real recurring issues (customer service, delivery, etc.)
