Hello,

I bought a TCL television and I would like to connect my Sharp VCR to the TV, so I purchased a SCART to HDMI converter but it is not working. I can't connect to the TV; what should I do? Thank you very much for your response.

Thank you, but which cable do you need exactly? There are several models. Thank you very much for your reply, and I'm sorry to bother you again.

    Hello,

Can you provide us with the complete references of your devices:

    • TCL TV model
    • Sharp VCR model
    • Brand and model or link for the Scart to HDMI converter

OK for the television and the VCR.

We still need to know the specifications of the converter.
It is indeed a Scart to HDMI converter and not the other way around, and it is compatible with Secam signals (which was the standard in France at the time), right?

What do you plan to do with your VCR? Probably read already recorded tapes.

Where did you plug in your converter? Scart socket to Line1 input of the VCR and HDMI output of the converter to one of the two HDMI inputs of the television.

I tried both the SCART connections for the VCR and both HDMI ports on the TV, but nothing, no signal.

At the risk of repeating myself, what are the references for this converter?

If you do not answer the questions asked, it will be impossible to try to help you.

Your converter is not the right one; you have an HDMI to SCART converter.

You need the opposite, as mentioned earlier, meaning a SCART to HDMI converter or SCART to HDMI.

Also, make sure that this converter is compatible with SECAM and not just PAL or NTSC.

Thank you very much for your help and for taking the time. Do you perhaps have an idea of what I can do with the other converter? Can it be used for something else? Thanks again, have a great day.

The converter in your possession can only be used to transform a video signal from an HDMI output (a PC, for example) for transmission to a system with a SCART input (to record a video from your PC on your VCR, for example).

However, do not expect miracles with this type of device (SCART to HDMI or HDMI to SCART); the videos, if it works, will always be of poor quality.
