Big Windows 10 bug, inaccessible files

Hello,

I have a problem with my Windows 10 computer (quite old, bought in 2014): it sometimes bugs or lags, which is normal for an old device, but since yesterday it is "stuck": I turn it on, everything works well, I go on Chrome, I stay there for 1 hour, and when I close Chrome the desktop background has turned black and all the software icons have disappeared except for 2, the recycle bin and Edge now placed at the top left. The icons of the software in the taskbar are unusable transformed into a piece of paper (icon shape) with an error message: unable to open this item, it may have been moved, renamed or deleted. The file explorer is unusable except through the recycle bin, but all my documents have disappeared as if it had reset to 0. Yet when I open the Run program (Windows + R) and type C:\... the names of my files appear but are inaccessible. I don't understand, is it due to the age of the computer, have I been hacked? However, when I turn it on after the sleep mode, the background and the password of the lock screen remain the same. I've tried restarting or turning it off, nothing works...

I also ran a scan through the command prompt using the command sfc /scannow, here are the results: C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow Starting system scan. This operation may take some time. Starting the verification phase of the system scan. The verification is 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at the following location: windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Example: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE switch.

The night before, I installed software to read HEIC files: CopyTrans Studio, a software that seemed clean to me.

Additionally, after installing this software Chrome had trouble starting; it displayed an error message, so I went to file explorer, local disk, program, Chrome and clicked on an icon "new chrome" and it opened. The error message told me that Chrome could not start due to its incorrect side-by-side configuration. The message advised me to use the sxstrace.exe tool which I attempted to do.

I would like to at least recover my data stored in the file explorer. Thank you (sorry for being long but I'm trying to be as precise as possible).

    Hello,

Personally, what I would advise you... is to buy a new laptop.

Then, with a HDD/SSD adapter, it is quite simple to transfer the data from the old PC to the new one, but you will have to dismantle the old storage!
