Hello;

I received this email today from PayPal with the address "***@***". I do have a PayPal account, but it is associated with a different address than the one where I received this message. In the recipient field, where my address is supposed to be displayed, this address is shown instead "***@***"

Is it a scam?

The email:

"Set up your PayPal account profile

PayPal Billing Team added you to the New Billing Profile: A $1,289 charge made from checking account with new billing profile. If unauthorized, Call PayPal at I(888) 264-76II to cancel. If correct, no action is needed. PayPal accepts pending bill from this account.

Your user ID: debrasmith6785

Use this link to finish setting up your profile for this account. The link will expire in 24 hours."

    Hello.

    Paypal never prompts you to click on a link provided in an email.

    This is a scam that encourages you to click on a link leading to a page that looks like Paypal, but is not, in order to trick you out of your money.

    Just ignore it...
