Indeed, this phone is limited to Wi-Fi 5.

Hello,

If your computer is on wifi 5, this indication is accurate since you will only be able to use that protocol.

Moreover, to my knowledge, a special, more expensive subscription is required.

A special subscription to use a box wifi network?

What is this story?

My bad. Probably a mix-up with what I was told by Orange regarding receiving the Livebox 6.

Disregard my mistake.

OK, I was surprised by that from you too ... :-)

Thank you Brupala, if it's limited, I'll make do. See you soon, if I have any other questions.

It's not limited, it's just how it is with some older equipment.

Good, it is not old, it dates from October November 2024.

Hello,

Outside of the age of the phone, only those that are rather high-end and come with the corresponding price are equipped with Wifi 6 or 7.

By definition at home, one can, except for specific uses (for example videoconferencing or streaming, but you must be a masochist if you have a computer) or network congestion (very many devices connected via Wifi), question its relevance.

You can find Wi-Fi 6 even at low prices now, Wi-Fi 7 is still much rarer, but indeed it is much more useful on access points where it multiplies capacity than on mobile devices.

Hello, Brupala it’s not a big deal, I can still pick it up well. Do you know the Connectivity Labs function? See you later

No, it seems specific to Samsung, I don't really see the usefulness apart from automatic network selection.

Thank you all, but I just wanted to know because I had never noticed this symbol. Have a great holiday.

Hello,

The 5 indicates that you are connected to a 5 GHz network.
Connect to a 2.4 GHz network: the 5 will disappear.

This is something recent, appearing with the latest versions of Android. You won’t see it on Android 11.

What is well conceived is clearly expressed,
And the words to say it come easily.
