Connecting a USB flash drive to a CRT TV

Hello :)
I recently acquired an old Samsung VHS Combo TV on which I would like to connect a USB device (USB stick or hard drive).
I have a SCART socket at the back of the TV and a VGA socket on the front.
What adapter would allow me to carry out this operation?
Thank you in advance,
Hélène

Hello,
You will need a TNT2 decoder with a PERITEL output, as recent models only have an HDMI port. Hypermarkets or other specialized stores offer several brands.
The VGA port will not be of any use to you (input for computers with VGA or SVGA video output).
Note: these decoders are actually TV receivers. The USB ports are used to connect a USB key or hard drive. A terrestrial antenna input is used to connect an indoor antenna, most often electronic, or a rooftop antenna, as the reception possibilities with the former are particularly unreliable depending on TNT coverage and geographical environment.
In other words, the signal is not received through the individual or collective antenna that the television was connected to, but reception and recording functions are provided by the adapter. You can, of course, connect the decoder to your rooftop antenna if you had one previously.
As such, to my knowledge, there is no USB adapter available for cathode-ray tube televisions, which were at best limited to TNT1, which is no longer broadcast.

Good evening Georges,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to me :)
Do you think that with this small DVD player that has a USB port, I will be able to connect a flash drive with a movie to my CRT TV?

Hello,
The output of the player is HDMI (digital), so you won't be able to connect it to the VGA analog input of the television. Unless you use a female HDMI to male VGA converter, with no guarantee of proper functioning.
Not to mention winux's valid point about the high resolution format, which is incompatible with the SD standard of older televisions.
The easiest solution would be to purchase an HDMI PC monitor for just a few dozen euros.
