Hello, I bought a vinyl turntable and an RCA cable with ground. I connect one end to the ground of the amplifier, but where do I connect the other end? Should I connect it to the chassis of the turntable, or is it possible to attach it to the metal frame of a shelf that is in contact with the floor?

Hello,

What are the references (Brand and model) of this turntable?

It's a JVC AL F50B. My amplifier is a Denon (home theater) AV S650H. However, I bought it at a FNAC store and the seller tried it on their amplifier (on the tuner input) and the sound was perfectly audible. Right now, I have to record so that I can then launch the playback from a USB stick.

Which input on your amplifier did you connect the output of your turntable to?

I don't think you should connect it to the Phono input. If FNAC made the connection to a Tuner input, it means that the output of the turntable is pre-amplified, so you should rather use one of the CLB/SAT or AUX inputs.

For the ground wire, apparently, nothing is planned on the turntable, and it’s not necessarily required to make the connection between the amplifier and the turntable except in case of unwanted noise.

If you were to connect the ground to the turntable, there should be a screw somewhere where you can make the connection.

Contrary to what I wrote (perturbed by the so-called FNAC trial on the tuner input), this turntable does not have an amplified output, so the Phono input should be used on your Denon amplifier.
