Hello,

I am asking for your help with a story that I thought was finished a while ago, but it turns out it is not at all. So here it is, I have been receiving emails from someone named "Emma" for quite some time now, I only received 2 recently, the first one dated December 21, 2024, and the second one dated December 26, 2024, but what intrigues me here is that both emails come from different addresses. Each time, it is exactly the same message that is written. I'm attaching a screenshot of one of the two emails.

What is hidden in blue is my first name! And that is precisely the thing that worries me the most, is that not only did this person find my email address from who knows where, but also this person knows my first name! I hope that one of you has an idea of what this might be, whether my personal data is compromised or if this is a virus.

Thank you for your responses.

    Hello,

It's another "brouter" (African) trying to scam you out of money. Mark the message as spam and delete it.

P.S.: I receive a few of these every day but I don't pay attention anymore. I systematically delete them.

      Hello,

Thank you for your response. To be honest, I don't quite understand, a scammer trying to extort money by saying "good morning"? Anyway, I will do what you told me to do and we'll see if I receive any more of these messages.

Thank you again for your response.

      Have a nice day.

    Hello,

Numerous email addresses are regularly compromised, or collected and sold by websites and then available on the dark web. This email address can be associated with the user's first name, last name, phone number, or even their IBAN, as we have seen recently for Free customers.

So, from all these lists, it is easy to send an email to a person using their first name.

      Hello,

It's been a long time since this happened to me, I occasionally receive emails from so-called "ladies" calling me by my first name and saying they are eager to meet me.

The purpose is unclear, probably to swindle the unsuspecting person who would call back.

Do good and let them talk...
