Hello,
My phone displays "call" and rings twice, then stops and resumes again 10 to 15 minutes later. How can I stop this please? Thank you very much.

Hello,
How many handsets do you have?
What exactly does the screen display outside of the periods when "Call" appears?
Please see below for the possible displays.
I only have one handset.
The screen displays "call" then each time, a message on the screen says "1 new message" even though there are no messages, then back to "call" then "2 new messages", etc.
Good evening,
I only have one handset.
The screen shows "call", it rings, the phone icon blinks as well as the answering machine icon and the battery charges, then each time, a message on the screen indicates "1 new message" even though there are no messages, then back to "call" then "2 new messages", etc. The battery is recharging and the answering machine icon is blinking.
For your information, I use the SFR answering machine by dialing 147 then the secret code and not the phone's answering machine.
It is new but maybe defective?
Thank you very much for your help.
The calls are the calls you did not answer...
Open the call log... to see the numbers of those who called and delete the "x new messages"
If the answering machine is blinking, it means there are messages on the phone's answering machine...
And if the handset only rings twice, it means the settings of the phone's answering machine are misconfigured...
For normal use of a phone with a built-in answering machine, your phone's answering machine must be set up:
- As an answering machine recorder
- And the number of rings should be set to 4.
If it is longer than 4, it will trigger your SFR operator's voicemail, which will record any messages.
If you are using SFR's answering machine, why did you buy a phone with a built-in answering machine???
For your information, the manual for this E260S voice

Thank you for your reply.
I haven't received any calls on voicemail. It's empty. I deleted the x messages but it starts up again.
I got a phone with a built-in answering machine just in case the SFR one wasn't working due to their issue.
How can I ignore the built-in answering machine and only use the one from SFR, please?
Thank you very much!
If SFR's voicemail has a problem, you certainly won't receive any calls transmitted to your phone.
The usefulness of SFR's voicemail, when you have a phone with an integrated answering machine, is to compensate for defects affecting your own phone (for example, a power outage). In case of a power cut, you no longer have a phone and SFR's voicemail will take your messages (these messages will then be indicated on your handsets).
If you really want to do without your own answering machine, you must either not turn it on or set the number of rings to a value higher than 5 rings, as by default the SFR voicemail kicks in after 5 rings.
Now that the "ghost" calls continue, which is strange, I invite you to
- unplug everything from the base (power supply and telephone cable)
- remove the batteries from the handset
- wait a good minute
- then reconnect starting with the base and then reinsert the batteries in the handsets
- Finally, disconnect the power supply of the SFR box
- also wait a minute
- Reconnect the SFR box
Okay. I'll try tomorrow and keep you updated.
However, how do I avoid turning on the built-in voicemail? Will setting the ringtones to 5 disable it?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Hi,
Sorry for replying just now, but I wasn't home.
I performed the actions you suggested and thank you for that.
However, I tried it out and when I leave a message on the SFR voicemail or hang up before the voicemail kicks in, I get "1 new message" that displays on the screen followed by "call" with the flashing phone icon, then it rings. I need to pick up the phone, take a line, wait for the whole thing, and hang up, then clear the log for the first call whose number displays as well as the second one which was a missed call.
That's a lot of steps, isn't it?
Furthermore, when I am away, the phone will ring with the call displaying until I return, and also the battery will drain very quickly.
Could you please give me some advice?
Thank you very much
As soon as you receive a call, whether the caller leaves a message or not... the phone will record that a call took place.
The blinking light and the "x new messages" allow you to know, when you arrive, that someone tried to reach you (1 or x times).
The call log is there to show you the number of the caller(s).
If a message has been left, the corresponding icon either for your answering machine or for the SFR voicemail will also be displayed in this case.
In the event of a missed call, the phone will ring until the answering machine or SFR voicemail picks up or the caller hangs up.
No need to pick up the line to check the call log.
No worries about the battery, I assume you leave the handset on its base and therefore it is charging. If the need arises, it will start charging by itself.

Thank you for the information.
What is the corresponding icon when a message is left on my SFR voicemail? I don't see anything on the screen.
In the case of a call without leaving a message, even when the caller hangs up, the phone displays "call" and rings, then stops and resumes as long as I haven't picked up, as explained earlier. Is this a bug with the phone?
Furthermore, the key below 7 represents 2 circles (1 filled and 1 empty) and a *. How do I switch from one to the other? Do these circles serve any purpose?
Thank you very much.
As for the icon indicating (at least) one message in your SFR voicemail, see below:

The manual for your device being very brief does not really describe the functionality, I have included above an excerpt from a much more detailed manual on this subject.
For the key located below key 7 (reference 11 on the screenshot of my message #7), the manual states:

In other words:
- To get the star a brief press.
- To get the list of dialed numbers a long press
To return to your "ghost" calls, the phone rings after a call, stops, then starts again until you answer.
How is SFR voicemail set up?

Because it is stated in paragraph 6 if automatic callback is activated:
When a message is left on your answering machine, you receive a callback every 10 minutes for 2 hours.
