Office 365 update

Hello,

Can someone explain to me why I cannot update my Office 365 license? I reset Windows 10 because I got a message saying that Office was not connected, and I couldn't update it (license provided by a colleague, so it's legal). After this reset and the installation of Office 365, everything was working fine. But after a while, I received the error message about my account, stating that there are issues with my account. To fix them, please sign in again. There was another message on the same window saying, We cannot display your connected services because a server issue has occurred. Please try again. And every time I try, it's the same thing. There is an error code 29. As for the internet connection, I can access Google and other sites without any problem, only Microsoft Office is having issues. For antivirus, I purchased a Bitdefender Total Security license; previously, I had Comodo Antivirus Pro in the free version, so even with a different antivirus, the problem remains the same.

Thank you for the time you will give me for a response and possibly a solution. I am a basic user without in-depth knowledge of systems. I use the Microsoft Office 365 suite for the secretariat of an association.

    Hello,

An Office 365 license is tied to the Microsoft account it's linked to, which must be used, and it is only valid on the number of PCs it allows.

To my knowledge, it is not transferable for free or for a fee, so in principle there is no other choice for the organization if it wants a Microsoft office suite but to invest a few tens of cents in an Office 2019 or 2021 online license.

If the license holder has a "Family" version (as far as I remember, 5 PCs) and of course their license is still valid and at least one of the 5 is available, they can choose to share their license with 4 other family members by sending them an invitation to connect from their own account and they accept.

I don't know if there are any criteria for verifying "family" and if so, what they are (same roof?).

        Hello

Family licenses are generally tied to the installation PC, regardless of the physical location. But with 365, since it's a subscription, it might be different... there must necessarily be a master account, the one who pays for the subscription.

        Hello,

The status of Microsoft 365 licenses is often, like the rest at Microsoft, nonsense; it could, in extreme cases, be about Business licenses, in which case the question does not arise.

In the context of a Microsoft 365 license, Microsoft specifies that the guest must be part of the same "family group" as the inviter. We only know that Microsoft Family Safety is a prerequisite, but it does not specify whether members must or must not have a blood or residence link.

        It's rather unclear.
