Hello,

Yesterday I installed the 24H2 update for W11. This morning I wanted to launch a simulation game from Steam, a game I have been using for years. I noticed right from the start of the game's launch that there were performance issues, with choppy images or at times the action seems to be in slow motion. I would like to point out that I have never encountered this issue before the update.

Configuration:

Processor: AMD RYZEN 5 7535HS Readon Graphics

Memory: 16 GB

Graphics card: NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4060

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hello.

First test, check during the game which app or process is "devouring" the processor or memory for no apparent reason.

    Preferably, take a screenshot.

    Hello everyone....

Another known issue ► Bug with games after update 24H2

The solution is to uninstall this update and wait for Microsoft to find one or more solutions

    Cheers

Hello and thank you for your response.

I launched the game and in the task manager, I noticed that the task 'BootstrapPackagedGame' is using an average of 30% of the CPU.

As for uninstalling the latest update, I have never had the opportunity to do so, is there a risk of losing data or applications and what is the procedure?

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hello,

I'm following up on this topic because this morning in the list of updates to be made, W11 suggested a BIOS update. I applied this update and since then everything has returned to normal: very smooth visuals while playing games.

    Thank you.

      Hello,

For the record, Windows and the BIOS, it's above him, it's not directly Windows Update that offers an update but the PC manufacturer through this means.

It seems to me that I also encountered this (HP) after migrating to 24H2.
