Bluetooth keyboard and Android tablet issue
PollenBee -
Hello,
I have a problem with my Xiaomi Poco pad tablet. I bought a Bluetooth keyboard to make note-taking easier in word processing. At first, it worked well. But now, I have an automatic spell checker that is wasting a lot of my time because it corrects in all the wrong ways, makes words plural, adds capital letters randomly, etc., which forces me to keep going back to make corrections. It's really annoying. I was using WPS but I just uninstalled it because I read that it might cause issues. I've cleared the caches of all my apps and disabled the auto-correction on Gboard just in case. I don't know how to get rid of this persistent spell checker that occurs on all the apps I use with the keyboard, even Canva, for example. Can you please help me knowing that I'm not very tech-savvy? I'm wondering if I might have to reset my tablet because I can't figure out how to do it otherwise. Thank you for your help.

I understand how frustrating it can be to face unwanted autocorrect functions when typing on your Xiaomi Poco pad tablet.
Step 1: Check the keyboard settings
Step 2: Disable predictive text and autocorrect functions
Step 3: Clear the app data
Step 4: Check for software updates
We hope one of these steps will help you resolve the autocorrect issue you are experiencing.
I have already checked all of that. But the automatic spell checker is still active.
I have exactly the same problem with my Bluetooth keyboard and my Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro tablet. To solve this issue, I changed the Gboard keyboard and replaced it with Google Voice typing, as I didn't really have a choice since you can only choose between these two keyboards. Now, I no longer have issues with my keyboard replacing every word I type. One small drawback is that when my Bluetooth keyboard disconnects sometimes, the voice typing activates, but I just need to reactivate my Bluetooth keyboard to solve the problem. If you're interested, on my tablet, I went to:
- Settings -> Additional settings -> Language and input -> Manage keyboards
And there, I disabled the Gboard keyboard and activated voice typing. I don't know if it will be the same on your tablet. I hope this helps you.
