Wired controller not recognized on PC

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

My wired controller is not recognized by my PC, but is still detected.

I checked that it’s not a USB port issue, nor a problem with the PC: I tested it on two different computers and on several functional USB ports on each of these PCs.

When I go into Device Manager, the device is marked as unknown with “device descriptor request failed” preceding it. In the details, it says “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)”

I tried to follow a thread that advised going to Device Manager and removing the device; unfortunately, that didn’t work, which is why I am reaching out for help. The device ID is strange, indicating “USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE”.

If useful, the controller is from EasySMX. By the way, I installed the driver for my controller from their site, but that didn’t progress the situation much.

The controller is as good as new, with no suspicious noises or drops to its credit.

Can you help me?

Good evening,

response from a non-specialist regarding the game:

When you say "The controller is like new," I understand that it is not. If you bought a used controller that was claimed to be in good condition and free from damage, we can only observe that it does not work.

It all depends on your proximity to the previous owner.

If the controller was new, it "would simply" need to be returned for an exchange.

A detected but unrecognized controller means that:

- either the driver does not match your unknown version of Windows. To be checked - or the controller is malfunctioning (electronically) and it will not be possible to repair it remotely. Thus, you will need to go through customer service for testing, possibly on a gaming console if it is one of the multi-platform models.

Furthermore, you are providing the name of a range and not a specific model.

These are all points that need clarification in order to suggest further actions.

The hardware specialists at CCM will undoubtedly take over to confirm or refute my statements.

Hello,

What would probably also be very helpful is to tell us what controller it is.

Also, which driver has been installed and how?
