impossible to install photoshop 5 on windows 11 Solved

Question

Hello. I have an HP Pavilion laptop 15. No CD drive. with Windows 11. I copied the contents of an Adobe Photoshop 5LE CD onto a USB flash drive. When I try to install it using the USB drive, I get an error message saying that the program cannot be installed. I was able to do the installation under Windows 10 before, but from the CD on another computer that had a CD drive. Is the blockage due to the file on the USB or an incompatibility with Windows 11?

Hello,  We don't know anything yet, it's still to be determined whether it is compatible with Windows 11 or if there is a lock checking for the physical presence of the CD.  In this latter case, create an ISO and mount it in Windows 11.

Apparently, according to Adobe, Photoshop may have issues with Windows 11.

You could have bypassed the blockage if it were Windows with Compatibility Administrator from Windows ADK  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/get-started/adk-install  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-10/deployment/compatibility/compatibility-administrator-users-guide  It doesn't mean it would have worked well, but it would have been installable to at least test.

Start the Compatibility Administrator program  Go to Applications  > Photoshop 5.0 and 5.5  Right-click on Photoshop.exe on the right > Disable Entry  Do the same for setup.exe > Disable Entry  Do the same for the other Photoshop 5 installation files present  _INS0432._MP  _ins5576._mp

Then to launch Photoshop via its .exe or shortcut, you will probably need to use right-click > Properties > Compatibility  Run in compatibility mode for Windows 10 (or earlier).

It would be possible to virtualize it, VirtualBox, or VMWARE.  With virtual Windows XP, Vista, or Win7, it should be compatible.

Hello everyone, With W10 or W11, Microsoft has tightened security for installing applications. We can bypass these restrictions to try to install an application.   For that, there are 2 methods.  Method 1: Open Settings =► Apps=►Advanced app settings    Select =►  Anywhere   Method 2: Open Settings =► System ==► Developer mode   Activate the box ''Developer mode'' in a blue highlight. Click ==►Yes    For the requester Swift14, try to install the setup normally first (left click); if that fails, install the setup in compatibility mode second, or if that fails, install the setup as an administrator with the right click third. Or do not install the setup from the USB stick, but copy and paste the folder to the Desktop and follow one of the procedures mentioned.

Hi,  However, do you always have to run it as an administrator to open it?  Since it's a portable software for photos, there are no other options available. For this software (not with the paid version, of course). It's not easy to get this portable application for free. And to get back to this application specifically, an "help" option is available.    After a certain period of using portable photoshop, feedback on the CCM forum would be helpful. This is for future users.
