Configure a Hotmail account in Microsoft Office 2016

Hello,

I had a Hotmail account under Outlook 2016 that worked fine, and for 2 days now it asks me for my password and when I enter it it does not recognize it; I changed it and the same problem the password is not recognized.

Hence my question: have there been any recent changes to hotmail called outlook..com since then?

The automatic creation by adding an account under Outlook does not work; it cannot configure it. How to manually enter the elements to create a hotmail IMAP or POP account under Outlook 2016

    Hello,

    I had similar issues with my Hotmail account in Outlook (Office 2019).

    I resolved the problem by recreating the Hotmail account and following the recommendation to use Microsoft Exchange.

      hi,

      If Outlook 2016 keeps asking for your password for Hotmail, try this:

      1. IMAP Server: imap-mail.outlook.com, port 993.
      2. SMTP Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com, port 587.
      3. If you use two-factor authentication, create an application password in your Microsoft account.

      That should fix the issue!
