Hello,
I'm trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy A40 via USB and every time I get this message:
The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.
In Device Manager I uninstalled the USB controllers and rebooted NOTHING
I tried via CMD:
sfc /scannow
prompt
sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll sfc /verifyfile=
c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll assoc chkdsk
nothing to do
Uninstall and reinstall the Samsung USB drivers
and still the same message
it's on a US 3 and I even tried it on a USB [port], still the same message
USB debugging is enabled on my A40
If anyone has another idea?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
In cases similar to yours, there isn’t a real solution available on the Internet.
Some people advise changing the USB cable or cleaning the contacts on the socket.
Others suggest resetting the smartphone. It’s drastic and there’s no guarantee it will work.
You should check whether the problem occurs on another computer; if it does, send the smartphone for repair.

While you’re trying to find a solution, you can connect via Wi‑Fi.
See the tutorial I wrote HERE.
It works well and I use this method regularly.
What is well conceived is expressed clearly,
And the words to say it come easily.
