Lost keyboard after hard drive replacement

Hello,
I am following up on my previous post here. So, while trying to replace a hard drive in a PC, two new small problems have arisen, of course, otherwise it wouldn’t be funny!
So
1) when opening the PC to install the drive, I couldn’t manage to replace the disk. The previous disk is housed in a drive bay with probably no IDE cable on it,
2) This IDE cable obviously came loose and upon reboot, I no longer have a keyboard, see photo below:

a) So, could the fact that this cable came off (the removed part contained a kind of sticker with the inscription "I/O") have made me lose my keyboard?
b) my PC starts up very well otherwise, Windows 10 boots but I no longer have a keyboard!
c) is this type of cable easily replaceable? I don’t know if it’s a standard cable or if a special cable is needed!
Thank you.

Hello,
This cable is not a IDE cable but the one that connects your motherboard to the keyboard.
This cable unclips from the left side of your photo by lifting the white tab there. The problem is that you pulled the keyboard cable off, and it should remain attached. I don’t think, unfortunately, that it can be reattached. If you want it to work again, your only options are to buy a complete keyboard for your model or to buy an external keyboard.
Additionally, before you start disassembling a laptop, I strongly recommend finding a teardown tutorial for your specific model on the Web.

Indeed!
The tablecloth was torn off without me noticing! I had in mind that it used the same fastening system as on IDE tablecloths!
But this video proves otherwise:

But it's still strange, because if I buy a new keyboard, I wouldn't have the cable (shown in my photo). Indeed, the Asus X554L keyboard has only a central ribbon cable which, in my PC, is connected to the motherboard (see photo found online below of a new keyboard)!
The best would perhaps be that I buy this type of ribbon cable to replace it! -

Hi
As I said, it’s not the IDE, which disappeared a long time ago, for the connection, I won’t add anything to what thethev explained,
The right side that came loose needs to be reattached, it appears to be a pressure connection, it should be possible, otherwise you need to take the PC to a professional with the necessary equipment to reconnect the cable.

Ok, thank you for your help.

Hello,
Indeed, according to the tutorial provided for your model, you should be able to clip the ribbon back in place using the white tab which must be lifted to slide the ribbon all the way in, and then lowered to secure it.
All of this must be done carefully to avoid any damage. If you're not used to it, it is better to indeed call a specialist.

Hello, after putting back the tablecloth and then installing the new cloned hard drive (SSD), I still get the same Windows screen at startup! I should note that none of the combinations proposed by Windows, nor F1, F8 or Escape, work!
I’m going to run a Boot-info via a Ubuntu live USB and I’ll send you the results so we can see what’s going on!

If you restore the original disk, does everything work again?

Yes, everything works again with the original disk!
It must be a cloning problem, perhaps! Yet the cloning went well, with no errors, using Clonezilla! I’m hesitant to redo a clone!
Or maybe the boot sector of W10 was overwritten during the cloning, but that seems strange!
I’ll boot the W10 PC with Boot-Repair to see if the boot was actually damaged and to request a boot-info report that I will post here.

Free software that performs direct cloning is not common.
Personally I stopped using cloning for a long time; I make a full image of the HDD and restore the image onto the new disk after replacement using a troubleshooting USB drive of the software. The only constraint is to have a USB key or an external drive with enough capacity to host the image...
