Hello,

I noticed that my external drive Maxone 3.0 500 Go is no longer saving backups. I therefore formatted the drive. In the file hierarchy, it is now named Local Disk (F:) instead of Maxone (F:). I then initiated the procedure in settings, file backup, more options, backup options. Maxone still appears under its name with its indications: backup size 66.7 Go Total space on Maxone: 465 Go even though the drive is empty. The "backup now" function is non-operational. I received an error message asking me to reconnect the drive. The file history activated does not recognize this drive. I pointed to the drive Local Disk (F:) free space 465 Go. An error message appeared after the action indicating that the file history drive is disconnected and thus non-operational.

Thank you for letting me know if there is a procedure so that I can make my external hard drive operational again.

Sincerely

Good evening,

Check the status to see if the health of the disk is still good or not!

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid your hard drive is defective.

The analysis of the hard drive is good using the Crystal software. I removed the device in settings and disconnected the hard drive. I reconnected it and went to file backup. I executed the immediate backup. Then, after confirming the successful backup of C:, I added E:, which is a particularly busy working partition. In fact, I had to remove the device with the old name axone (F:). However, I didn’t understand the reason why it stopped the backup. That’s why I performed a formatting to reset it. This formatting changed the name of the device, which prevented its operation, as the old name remained on the backup page.

Knowing that the disk was good was crucial for what followed.

It's very fast. My disks are good. Interestingly, Maxone is

TOSHIBA MQ01ABD050V: 500.1 GB.

Health status: good. I removed Maxone and reconnected. The hard drive is recognized as Local Disk (F:). The backup worked for drive C. I added the partition to back up (E:), but it doesn't seem to be working.

Hello,

To create a disk image and back up the system, I use a giveaway program (O&O DiskImage 17 Pro) (With the option to create a bootable media for restoration in case of a dysfunctional system)

Then, to back up files from the desktop, let's say like a scheduled synchronization, I also use a giveaway program (O&O Autobackup 6)

For the free licenses in giveaway

I am going back to the topic. The external hard drive has been recognized. But I've just noticed that the file backup is not updating with an error message 101...
