HP: Duplex Offset (Short Edge First)

Hello,

I have an HP Officejet Pro 7740. I want to print documents containing tables double-sided. Since the tables are game cards, the front must perfectly match the back (the documents are not mine, so I can't modify them). The pages are exactly in the same position when I open my document in Adobe Acrobat Reader (they are centered in the middle). But no matter what I do, the back doesn't line up with the front when printed (just a few millimeters, but it's annoying).

I followed a tutorial on HP that discusses an option in the settings to manage the double-sided offset. However, I absolutely do not have this option in Adobe. And when I go to my printer settings, I can't find anything either. I’ve tried playing with the fit, actual size, custom scale... Nothing works. Do you have any tips? (The person producing these documents has no offset, so I suspect it must be an issue with my printer).

Do you have a solution to this problem?

    Hello,

It is possible that the file has dimensions in the English or US standard.

For example, for mail, they use the US-letter format (8.5x11 inches) while we use the A4 format (210x297 mm), which is almost a 2 mm discrepancy...

So, it might be worth checking this aspect.

Maybe you have never adjusted the settings on your printer...? And it has remained as it was when it came out of the factory... This can be adjusted both on the printer and on the PC...

You could also put your file on a USB stick, insert it into the printer, and print directly from the printer using the printer's buttons and not the PC at all...

Your printer may also have wear in the paper feed rollers... Or your paper may be too glossy, causing it to slip...

Thank you very much! I will already try the trick of using a USB stick. I have never tried it, I had never thought of it.
