Hello everyone,
I've been given a laptop to try to fix, but I admit I'm a bit lost with laptops.
It's an HP.
It's a student who has it, and it's been a while that sometimes it wouldn't start, but after several attempts it would start up, but now it doesn't want to know anything anymore.
I might have a potential error code, but I can't find any information on HP's website.
When I turn on the laptop, the LED located on the Caps Lock key blinks, with 3 slow blinks followed by 2 quick ones, then a pause before repeating continuously.
Whether I'm plugged in or not.
The simple tests I've performed:
The charger voltage is at 20v (no load).
When I plug in the charger, the LED next to the connector stays on orange continuously, indicating battery charging.
The same test with the battery disconnected, this LED next to the connector stays on white.
But each time I attempt to power it on, the Caps Lock LED blinks in the same way.
Nothing on the screen, it stays off, no backlight.
No beeping.
To turn off the laptop (which is blinking) I have to hold down the power button; a simple press isn't enough.
If you have any ideas, it's a shame because it's in perfect condition, with an i3, more than enough for her use.
