Hello,
I have an old MiniDV camcorder that I’d like to transfer the videos to my computer.
So I bought a Pinnacle Dazzle analog-to-digital converter. Problem: I don’t have any input signal in the software. I’m trying to figure out where the issue comes from: camcorder, AV/RCA cable, or the Dazzle.
Problem with the Dazzle converter? I tried with a newer camcorder (digital) using RCA and it works. (this camcorder has its own RCA cable that only works with it)
Problem with the cable? I then tried connecting my old camcorder to a TV via RCA. result: the signal is distorted. I bought a new AV/RCA cable: same problem.
Problem with the camcorder? I got another old MiniDV camcorder: still the same result, the signal is distorted on the TV and the software with Dazzle shows "no signal" with the two cables I have.
PS: I should note that playback of the tapes works without issue directly on the camcorders.
So I’m a bit out of ideas. If you have any thoughts or advice, I’d appreciate it in advance.

Hello, I hesitated to click to respond; it’s a hot potato. You’ve already done a good job cleaning up to find the flaw. I suggest plugging the camcorder with the S-video connection; these are round 4-pin jacks
plus the sound 2 RCA red white
