    Hello,

If you are not talking about being crossed out in the middle (some foreign, scientific symbols...) but about a line at the top and bottom, you just need to choose a serif font, like Times New Roman.

    Hello,

It depends on the software, as you need to choose a font that has an I like this: Courier, Century ....

      OK
So the two answers above are excellent: use the appropriate fonts, there are plenty of them to choose from >>> https://fontmeme.com/polices/polices-empattements/

        Hello,

To be more precise, back in the days when Microsoft had not updated its fonts for those under twenty, we only used the established English term, which was also Frenchified, fonts (without) Serif.

The two standard office fonts at that time were Arial and Times Roman.

It was considered that the second (Serif) was more elegant in word processing, but that a sans-serif font (for example, Arial) was easier to read in a spreadsheet (Excel).

Another criterion is proportionality; different characters occupy different horizontal spaces there, whereas in a terminal console it is obviously better to use a non-proportional font like Courier (or Lucida Console, which is more readable and less ugly).

        Yep !
        Excellent summary, simple and educational.

The concept of serif/sans serif is indeed very important, even decisive here.

        Well done and thank you.

You should indeed choose a serif font.
