Hello,

I have the Freemake Video Converter software and I manage to convert the video file to AVI. When I transfer it to the MP4, the title and the author of the video appear, but it shows a format error when I try to play the video. I didn’t receive a CD with my MP4; the manual says the software is provided in the MP4’s memory. But I can’t access it or read the videos.

    Hello
the AVI video format, like others (mp4 etc), is not unique; there are several versions. In short, an AVI file contains a video track and an audio track, each with its own encoding characteristics. It's like a "container" filled with two contents.

In summary, an .avi is not necessarily the same as another avi.

You must therefore know which characteristics are accepted by your MP4 player, what type of avi it is capable of decoding. Then you will need to export your videos as .avi (or another accepted format) but with the proper video stream and audio stream (encapsulation) characteristics.

    Best regards
