Network card that disconnects by itself

Hello,

Recently, the Wi-Fi on my laptop disappears by itself, without warning.

My laptop is connected via Wi-Fi. I have been using it for several years without any issues. And for about a week now, the Wi-Fi disconnects, and the Wi-Fi icon disappears. I cannot reconnect, it's as if I don't have a network card at all.

I have tried switching to airplane mode, updating the drivers, disabling/enabling my network card in the device manager... Nothing works. I have to restart.

Sometimes the disconnection happens within the first few minutes after turning it on, other times 1 hour later, and sometimes there's no disconnection the entire day...

When this happens, my network card is still detected in the device manager.

Any idea? Does this indicate an impending failure of my network card?

Thank you.

Hello,

If the drivers are up to date, then yes, maybe the Wi-Fi card is faulty. Maybe the router is too; see if you notice the same issue with another PC or phone. If it's the PC, try updating the BIOS and all other drivers.

change the Wi-Fi channel on the box just in case...

Thanks for the reply! :)

I updated the BIOS, with no effect :/

The wifi channel often changes, I have a repeater, and yet it crashes every time.

The wifi only crashes on the PC, it's not the box, the phones stay connected.

Any other ideas?
