Hello and a very Happy New Year to everyone!

Mom's TV is stuck on one channel. The remote control doesn't work (I obviously tried changing the batteries), and the control panel on the back of the TV doesn't work either. Everything is properly connected in the back. It's a Philips from 2013. Is it dead or not? Where could the issue be coming from?

Thanks for your insights.

Hello Vixien,

"Dead or not?": I don't think so!

Unplug the TV from the wall socket (or from the TV itself).
If you have a On/Off button on the TV, press it several times (around 10 times).

If there's no button, leave it unplugged for a few hours.

Then plug it back in and see what happens.

"and the control panel on the back of the television doesn't work either":
Remote control AND control panel at the same time. That's more surprising!

Check here as well.

Best wishes for this new year 2024!

Thank you for your help!

After unplugging everything, waiting a few minutes, and plugging the power and the antenna back in one after the other, everything is working again like before. This is the first time I've encountered this issue, and now I know what to do.

Thanks again!

Hello, to ask the question of whether it comes from the decoder or the television.

Hi vixien,

We never write in bold here or anywhere on the net! It represents anger!

Well done to you!

NOTE: don't forget to mark it as Resolved (on your first question at the top) when that's the case.
It would be advisable to post the solution found, for others who might be in a similar situation.
Thank you!

I'll take care of this for you this time!

Hello txiki,

Thank you for your advice! I'm going to check that out later this morning and I'll give it a try. I think she must have disconnected it last night. I'll check back later to let you know what's going on. Have a good day.

Hello Crystal,

She doesn't have a decoder or a box. But it's all set now, the problem is solved! After unplugging everything, waiting a few minutes, and plugging the socket and antenna back in one after the other, everything is working again like before.

Thank you and happy new year to you!
