4G Sharing Connection + Ethernet Box to Increase Speed

Hello,

To increase my Internet speed, I would like to use my box’s Ethernet connection and share my phone's connection to use the 4G/5G network at the same time. Is that possible, please?

Disabling the prioritization of the Ethernet connection does not work.

Only the Ethernet connection is used when I download a game on Ubisoft Connect and EA at the same time.

When I create a bridge with the Wi-Fi connection and the Ethernet connection, their speeds do not add up. The speed remains at about 25 Mbps as if only Ethernet or the shared connection were being used.

My computer is running Windows 11.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

    ChatGPT's response if anyone's interested:

It is indeed possible to combine multiple Internet connections to increase the overall speed of your connection. However, Windows 11 does not natively offer a feature to aggregate Ethernet connections and the hotspot from your phone's Wi-Fi or 4G/5G to seamlessly boost speed. Bridging connections does not automatically guarantee an increase in speed.

Bridging connections in Windows essentially creates a bridge between two networks, but this does not mean that the speeds will add up. Generally, it works to combine networks for compatibility or local network expansion purposes, but not to increase bandwidth.

To effectively combine the speeds of two different Internet connections, you will need a router or third-party software capable of managing this type of link aggregation. Some routers are designed to handle this functionality by aggregating multiple Internet connections to increase speed.

However, keep in mind that even with a router or third-party software, link aggregation may not double the speed for a single task. The benefits depend on how data is distributed between connections and the ability of remote servers to accept and manage this aggregation.

If you are looking for software solutions, third-party programs like Speedify, Connectify Dispatch, or other bandwidth management software can be considered to aggregate connections. However, make sure to check the compatibility and features offered by these software, as they may vary based on their versions and configurations.

In summary, to effectively aggregate the speeds of your Ethernet connection and the hotspot from your phone, you will need specific equipment or third-party software to manage this link aggregation and significantly increase your bandwidth.

So to increase the internet speed, in addition to an internet box, what specific software is needed and how should it be configured?

      Hi,

the other farting cat said: speedify for example in commercial use, is based on a kind of vpn, using the MpTcp protocol, the principle is explained here for the more geeky among us.

As Quic starts to replace TCP more and more, they have also started developing Mp-Quic, which should be more efficient because MpTcp is not great in this regard.

For example, with "speedify", you need a server like OVH to aggregate two connections: ADSL + 4G? And to call on the services of a geek to set everything up!

      Hello,

No. With Speedify, you subscribe to Speedify, install software on your computer, and you're off.

If you want to take advantage of it on your phone (combining Wi-Fi and 4G), you also install software on your phone.

      No,

both are independent, Speedify has its own servers and does not require a geek.

The geek is just to save money, since both Speedify and Over the Box are turnkey solutions, but it's always helpful to know one :-)

Sorry to "ubux" for hijacking his thread!

you're quite familiar with this, it's not the first time,

but at the same time, it's his fault too, if he had been present in the discussion he created, this wouldn't have happened, we're just filling the void in his absence ... :-)

At the same time, the answer provided by the farting chat seems to suit him.
