PC booting in a BIOS loop

Hello everyone,

Recently I wanted to upgrade my PC to Windows 11 for some features, so I followed a tutorial on YouTube to enable the "Secure Boot" feature which is necessary for the update. However, since I changed this setting, my PC starts in a loop on the BIOS. I tried to change the boot order (by the way, I didn't quite understand the difference between UEFI hard disk or not...). It's worth noting that my SSD and hard drive are properly recognized by the system in the BIOS, and the software time is up to date (I saw it could come from there). I tried to reset using the two JAB1 pins which worked, but the PC still boots into the BIOS... I really need my PC to work, usually I can manage but I’m really stuck this time... It's also worth mentioning that I have an MSI motherboard. This problem started when I changed that damned setting, and despite the resets, the same issue persists..

If you have or need any additional information, don't hesitate to ask..

Thanks in advance

    Hello

    First, disable the secure boot.

Are you on W10? It's not specified?

Well, actually it was already disabled when I reset the BIOS, and yes, I am currently using Windows 10. I don't understand why the PC won't boot from my SSD where Windows is located.

You need to set the system disk to 1 in the boot order, it's in the BIOS, section "hardware drive priority" or something similar. Don't forget to save.

For your information, upgrading from W10 to W11 when it's not possible right away requires significant preparation beforehand, under W10.

Let me know if I'm wrong, but I think the boot order is correct?

Were you already in UEFI before? Are you sure?

No. Not sure. When I set priority 1 on the hard disk (not UEFI), it gives me this strange message.

Note that the report and the information have nothing to do with my current configuration.

You need to change the tone on this BIOS page:

I have changed quite a bit in this menu... no matter what, it won't boot...

Otherwise, too bad. Is there a way to start from scratch? I can reinstall Windows on a USB stick and format my SSD from the BIOS? Is that possible?

You can't format from the BIOS, but that's okay, you can download Windows 10 or 11 from the Microsoft website (search in Google for download Windows 11 or 10)

You choose "Create installation media", follow the process to put it on a USB drive, and then install it on your computer (you'll need to boot from the USB drive)

Okay, thank you. But is it going to be a problem to install Windows on an SSD that already contains it?

No, but if you get W10, it will either offer to repair your current installation, which I recommend trying first because it will keep your data, or to do a clean installation from scratch.

With W11, there won't be that choice.

Yes, this message is strange.... did you use a recovery disk for your Windows?
