There is no “stop” button on the Windows 11 player – there is only a “pause” button. You can also press the space bar to stop or resume playback. Otherwise, opt for another player, such as VLC.

It’s a known issue on Windows 11. You can fix it by using the keyboard shortcut "Alt+F4" which will bring up the dialog allowing you to shut down, restart, or put your computer to sleep. If you want a shutdown button directly on the Desktop, you can create a shortcut. To do this, right-click on your Desktop, choose "New", then "Shortcut". In the window that opens, type "shutdown /s /t 0" without the quotes. Click "Next", name the shortcut whatever you want, for example "Shut down", and there you have your shutdown shortcut on the Desktop.
