Set up emule always on low-id

Hello

Since I switched to fiber with SFR, Emule is always in low-ID, making it impossible to have a good connection. I don't understand the new SFR admin interface. If anyone can help me, I'm all ears.

Hello,

that's old news, SFR has changed a lot since then, now most fiber connections are in ipv6 with a fixed ipv4 address, but behind a CgNat.

Hello, it's highly likely that your SFR connection is on shared ipv6 and ipv4 behind a CGNat.

Either you configure the mule (and the box and your PC) to have ipv6 access (I don't know if that's possible for the mule), or you try to request a full stack ipv4 from SFR, but good luck with that, see the long discussion on the link above.

And there you go ....

But misery, how annoying the line spacing is!!

eMule, to achieve high ID, must be accessible via IPV4 through any port (TCP and/or UDP), and this port number needs to be set in the eMule configuration.

If it doesn't work with IPv6, it's going to be complicated; we have to move into the 21st century at some point, but that's not the only issue, and even if ISPs provide IPv6, the boxes are far from being optimized to handle it properly.

It's a shame though because IPv6 is really better for P2P; port number is normal for a server that needs to listen for connections, it exists in both IPv6 and IPv4, at least as long as we use TCP and UDP.

Hello

The port forwarding has been removed from the box configuration due to the switch to CGNAT (IP address sharing managed by SFR)

I'm using qbittorrent, it works, but very inconsistently, you have to let QBT manage it automatically

well yes,

port forwarding and even the DMZ can no longer work in CGNAT, there might be a UPnP system for IPv6 that could compensate, but in IPv6:

Actually, no, I forgot, we actually have an IPv6 DMZ, which allows routing a second /64 network, at my place, it's the address of an IPv6 router:
