Unidentified Ethernet Network

Hello,

For a few months now, my internet connection has not been working via Ethernet. It works over WiFi, but I still experience brief interruptions (quite annoying...)

I’ve tried a lot of things: updating the driver, uninstalling/reinstalling the network card, but nothing works...

When I plug in my Ethernet cable, it shows "Unidentified Network" and therefore does not connect to the internet.

I don’t know what information would be useful to you: My network card is an Intel(R) Ethernet Controller I226-V and here’s what I get when I type ipconfig in the command prompt:

I tried disconnecting the WiFi and running the Windows troubleshooting utility for the Ethernet network, and it told me "Unable to reach the DHCP server."

That's it, I don’t know what else to provide you...

Thank you,

Have a good day

    Hello,

try the command netsh interface ip reset

And of course, change your ethernet cable.

Is it a direct cable or through powerline adapters?

    And there you go ....

But misery, those line spacings are so annoying!!

Thank you for your response. I just tried your command, I restarted my PC but nothing changes...

My PC is connected via powerline adapters.

        OK,

test with a direct STP cable.

I feel really stupid but it works, I didn’t even think to test it like that...

So do I need to change the powerline adapters?

        Anyway, thank you :)

        At least have them repaired.

        Hello,

The powerline adapters need to be restarted regularly to avoid any connectivity issues.

I recommend restarting one every 3-6 months.

I had the same problem with mine.
