Chrome "managed by an organization" without my knowledge

Hello,

on MacbookPro, up-to-date Mac OS, I am on up-to-date Chrome, and it opens correctly on the "Google" engine BUT:

1 - when I open a new tab it opens on an undesired site (without displaying anything in the http... bar)

2 - when I go into Chrome management I see at the top the message "managed by your organization" and the same appears in the dropdown menu of Chrome settings at the bottom of the menu: "managed by your organization" >> "is someone else managing my Chrome! which should not be the case!

3 - If I continue the investigation with: chrome://policy I find that a rule NewTabPageLocation is installed without my knowledge and it takes me to the undesired page:

> I can't seem to delete this rule, thank you for helping me fix this malfunction, delete this rule? hacking? and are my personal data in danger?

    Hello,

Unfortunately, it's not working! I've reset everything and reinitialized Chrome, I even deleted it and reinstalled it, and still this same m... of my Chrome "managed by your organization" even though I'm logged in with my personal Gmail account and I should be my only admin... And I have this rule that opens a junk site when I open a new tab!

This only happens on my MacBook Pro, with the OS up to date, and with my personal Gmail account. Not on my Chrome on my phone. And I didn't have this problem before.

This has been happening for a few weeks now, and I don't know where it could be coming from. A "rule: NewTabPageLocation" has been installed that I can't delete and it's what systematically opens this page: "http://www.homesweeklies.com/newTab/8080/1391/00549/195/France/FR/OWBKOMGIOHWIOUJLMSLNTJKSIXCUKSFKNKQT/AC02A250-3C76-51BA-9982-4D1C684290FB"

(even though my Chrome should open on Google and new tabs should too)

How can I remove this admin function that's controlling my Chrome?

How can I get rid of this rule that opens this junk page every time I open a new tab?

Thank you so much for your help!

In the virus/security forum, we use FRST which makes it easy to solve this type of problem through a custom script. Unfortunately, FRST, which is a tool for analysis and correction, does not work with MacOS and no alternative exists, so I can't do anything for you. I will redirect your post to the Mac forum where you may be advised on a solution. You can also run a scan with Malwarebytes for mac.
