Non-receipt of TNT

Hello,

I live in France near the Spanish border. For x reasons, the antenna at my residence is no longer working. I don't have a box; I'm only connected to the antenna, so I have no TV.

I installed an indoor antenna but I can only receive Spanish and Basque channels. No French channels. Do you have a solution please? Thank you very much.

PS: it's a Thomson 43UD6306 TV

    Hello,

It all depends on the standard integrated into your TV. The French standard is TNT2, in effect for nearly 10 years if I'm not mistaken.

If your TV is old, you should consider a TNT2 receiver, to be connected to the HDMI input, if you have one.

Moreover, the fact that you receive Spanish channels is probably due to the proximity of a transmitter across the Pyrenees.

There is no guarantee that even with the receiver mentioned earlier, you will be able to receive signals in good conditions and without weather-related issues, particularly in mountainous areas.

Only tests can help find the right equipment, knowing that an indoor antenna is the least suitable for receiving TV broadcasts.

It would be wise to ask neighbors about the reception conditions and to get information from local repairers or stores.

ps.: replacing a collective antenna with an indoor antenna cannot, in my view, be a viable solution. It can be assumed that in the long term, the property management will initiate repairs since a TV connection is part of the mandatory equipment.

Hello and thank you for all this information.

All residents have a box. My TV is from 2018. As for the property management, it's a co-ownership with a lot of financial issues, so no intervention is planned.

The situation has been as it is since March...

Thanks again for your response ????????, I will indeed inquire with local repairers.

      Hello,

I'm not sure I understand your question. It's a standard omnidirectional antenna with 2 antennas. I've tried it in every direction, but I only get Spanish channels.

      Thank you.
