TNT reception issue since this evening: "empty database"

Question

Hello,  Just yesterday, my TV was receiving all the channels perfectly normally... and today, nothing works. I started an automatic search, then another one, and yet another, and I invariably get the message "database empty"...  What should I do to fix this problem and get my TV working again?   Thank you in advance for your help :)   Configuration: Windows 8 / Firefox 28.0

Thank you for your suggestions, but...  1) how to perform a factory reset?  2) how to check if the cable is good?  3) how to perform an "update" of my television?   Your suggestions seem interesting, but I have no idea how to implement them!

Hello,  You can try performing a factory reset on your television.  The "Database" is a directory on your TV where all the reception-related data is stored, such as the names of the channels, frequencies, signal reception...  It could also be that the antenna has moved or the coaxial cable is faulty (which you can check).  Otherwise, you can try updating your television.

- To check if the antenna cable is good, you need an ohmmeter, You should connect one terminal of the ohmmeter to one end of the cable and the other terminal of the ohmmeter to the other end of the cable. (You can check here: https://www.bricoleurdudimanche.com/forums/forums-bricolage/forum-electricite/comment-verifier-cable-coaxial.html )  - Perform a factory reset and a software update on the television; you need to access the menu via the remote control and look in the settings. (If you want more details, could you please provide me with the exact model number of your television? It is written on the back.)

Hello, and thank you for your help.  For point 1), I need to find an ohmmeter, which unfortunately I don't have at home...  For point 2), it's easier: it's a Schaub-Lorenz LCD TV 16' with TNT, model LT154-110DB2.   I have explored everything that can be done with the remote control, and I haven't found anything... And I don't know where the manual is.   However, I have some new information since my first message: 1) both TVs in the house have the same problem simultaneously (I checked this morning); 2) I managed to get all the channels back last night (without doing anything), then I lost them, then found them, then lost them again, etc. without ever doing anything. And when I have all the channels, they are all absolutely perfect, with impeccable reception.  It seems, therefore, that it may be a loose connection (???), but that doesn't help me much...  Does this help you understand? Are your previous suggestions still applicable?

Okay, so if you have the same problem on two different TVs, then the issue is with your antenna.  - As for updates, I don't think it's possible to do them on your television (that's usually reserved for high-end brands like Samsung, LG, Philips, Sony...)  - How many televisions do you have at home? Just to see if the issue is indeed with your TV or the antenna, even though I'm certain that the problem is with your antenna.  It's possible that the antenna has become unplugged due to the wind, which explains the "loose connection."  If you have the courage and the means to go up on the roof to check this, I recommend you do so.  But it's almost certain that the problem is with the antenna.

I have two televisions, and they have the same reception problem at the same time, and start working again at the same time.   Assuming I can get on the roof, where does it reconnect, an antenna??? On the roof? In the attic? And how? What does it look like? And what needs to be done to reconnect it?

If I asked the question here, it’s to try to solve the problem without having to call an antenna installer.  So I’m going to try to go up to the attic to see if I can access something, hoping that I won’t have to go all the way to the roof.   Thank you for your help and for the link to the diagram (even if I don’t understand much at first glance!)
