AIO Watercooling Pump Connection

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Gigabyte B760M Gaming X DDR4 motherboard with a Thermalright Frozen Notte 240mm ARGB water cooling system. I didn't really pay attention to the connections when purchasing these parts, and I've just realized that I don't have a "CPU_OPT" socket or anything else to connect the pump. Do you know if it's still possible to set up this configuration? Can I connect the 3-pin plug to a 4-pin SYS FAN?

Or do I need to switch to an ATX motherboard with these connection options?

Thanks everyone! :)

Hello,

In my opinion, it's better to be connected to a 4-pin, which works in PWM, unlike the 3-pin.

I assume you have a connector named CPU_FAN above the processor that would do the job, since you no longer have a fan on the processor... I think.

You should have a manual for your motherboard, or be able to download it... All these things are usually written there, or even a CPU_PUMP.

Hello,

I do have the CPU_FAN connector, but it should be used for both fans on the radiator; I still need to connect the 3-pin pump additionally.

And no, I checked the motherboard manual and specifications, there is no CPU_OPT, no CPU_PUMP or AIO_PUMP, etc...

I find it really strange that a recent motherboard doesn't have an option for this kind of setup, which is becoming basic now... Too bad.
