Hello.
My laptop (new) = LENOVO ideaPad 3-17TL6 Laptop Type 82H9
My smartphone = SAMSUNG Galaxy A13 (updated Android).
The Windows 11 Explorer does not recognize my A13?
I only use the original SAMSUNG cables (USB-C and/or USB).
However, when I connect it > there is the audio connection sound!
How can I get my A13 recognized on my PC?
(For your information: I wanted to contact LENOVO customer service = "This type of issue is not in our line - see a computer technician"??? THANK YOU LENOVO!

Hello,
There are USB cables that are only for charging: try using another cable.
In recent Android versions, as soon as you connect, the smartphone displays a choice menu, including file transfer.
If that's not the case, the usual method: in the smartphone menu (this may vary, it's usually under System-Build Version) tap 7 times to activate developer mode and enable USB debugging.
On the PC, download the specific Samsung adb driver:
https://developer.samsung.com/android-usb-driverIt will be installed automatically if, for other reasons (backup-transfer) Samsung Smart Switch is installed.

I'm not sure that the ability to serve as a hotspot (modem) isn't the subject of a specific menu rather than USB debugging in the developer menu; I have no other inspiration.
In any case, my late Samsung (a much older model running Android 8) worked like that; it's independent of the OS, Windows 10 or 11, we just need to accept that the phone communicates with the PC on one side and that an Android driver for Windows allows for exploration on the other.

I called LENOVO customer service > response: "This type of problem is not covered by our customer service - see a technician" - Thanks, LENOVO!
I regret buying this brand! Before, I had ACER = never had this type of response!

Stupid question, but you never know.
Is there a security measure in place on the PC to prevent reading USB devices?You can disable the use of a USB device through the registry, the device manager, a local security policy... but there's no reason to have this on a personal PC unless some exotic antivirus protection software gets involved and blocks them by default.
More insidiously, they can be disabled in the BIOS (access is typically via F2 at startup to check):

I tested the 2 USB ports:
When I connect a USB key > OK = recognized!
When I connect my Smartphone A13 = Not recognized!
I just discovered that I have 2 external hard drives that are also not recognized!
Yet on my other desktop PC (W10) = no problem (A13 and external hard drives)!
It's quite curious, nonetheless!
I have an appointment at DARTY's customer service next Monday to see what's going on.
I looked at the BIOS: I don't see anything special?

Lenovo is still a reliable brand (part of the IBM family) compared to Acer. I also own a Lenovo IdeaCentre (December 2022) which I am fully satisfied with.
In any case, whichever brand,
a computer is made up of components that vary in quality and power. It is the installed OS that defines all the system parameters. To answer the question, indeed when you connect the smartphone, it turns on and notifies the action you want to take. After that, nothing happens. But personally, I can find its trace in "THIS PC" under devices and drives. Perhaps it's the same for you?

This is the normal behavior regardless of the PC, notification followed by the appearance of the smartphone in the explorer where at least we can see what is authorized (not the root partition).

I have never had this type of problem with other brands I owned previously (ACER / ASUS / HP ...).
LENOVO's customer service is also terrible! (It's not us ...).

At DARTY's customer service > after tests and re-tests and checks > it has been confirmed that it was the PC (motherboard / USB?), that was faulty.
DARTY offered to replace it with the same model.
But first we tested the display model > Smartphone / external HDD and USB flash drive = perfectly recognized.
I therefore agreed to take back the same model - on the condition that this PC be initialized on the spot to check its proper functioning (Once bitten, twice shy ...).
Result = Everything is recognized as soon as they are connected (Smartphone / external HDD / USB flash drive).
I was just unlucky to get a faulty PC!
