Hello,

Hello everyone,

We replaced my father's landline (85 years old) as he can't see much anymore. A few points about using it are still unclear for us. If you can help me, especially since I'm guiding him over the phone, which is not practical.

1- The voicemail button is flashing constantly, which bothers him while he sleeps. Even though there are no new messages. Probably some missed calls. Is there a way to stop the flashing?

2 - Alarm: It seems that the ringtone stops when pressing a button, but it starts ringing again every 5 minutes. Is it impossible to turn it off permanently except by deactivating it through the menu?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,

If the star key is flashing, the simplest thing to do is to stop the flashing.

To stop the flashing, simply open the call log by pressing and holding the star key.

The flashing star key indeed indicates either a message on the answering machine, a missed call, probably also a message on the external mailbox (voicemail from your operator), but it can also simply mean that there has been a call.

First, check that the call log is not set to "All calls" (Ts.appels) but to "Missed calls" (App.manq) only.

Then refer to the manual on page 30 "Call log / Message list"; there are possible settings to disable the display for missed calls and new calls.

The manual: https://gse.gigaset.com/fileadmin/gigaset/images/CustomerCare/Manuals/E2x/E200-E200A_E290-E290A/A31008-M2901-F101-1-2X19_20-01-2020_fr_CH.pdf

As for the alarm, when it rings, the manual indicates that two choices appear on the screen: Stop and Snooze. These labels appear above the keys A and B located just below the screen.

Press Stop ==> the alarm is disabled for 24 hours.
Press Snooze or press any key . . . the screen displays Snooze, the alarm will ring again after five minutes.

See the manual on page 42.

Thank you very much for this detailed response.

My father found the alarm. Thank you!!!

There is still a problem with unchecking Ts calls (page 30). We cannot uncheck it.

Do you have the procedure?

Thanks again and have a good day.

Thanks again

I'm guiding him remotely for the setup, and it's not always simple.

He is able to access the menu, with the box checked. But he can't uncheck it.

He tried "ok", up/down arrow... but the check mark is still checked.

I think we are not talking about the same thing.

Is the issue in this conversation

where we must choose between all calls or only missed calls.

Or in this one

I advise you to do nothing in this last conversation but to select Missed Calls in the first one. To do this, after finding "Type liste app." and pressing OK with the browser arrows, you should be able to display either "Ts appels" or "App.manq." - Choose "App.manq." and press "OK"

The indicator will only flash for missed calls or when a message arrives on your answering machine.
