How to remove the "sign in with Google" message
SolvedGrrr -
Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to remove the "sign in with Google" frame that is constantly displayed when browsing a site.
I have to close it on every page I visit, and I don't connect with my Google account because I don't want to be tracked in my browsing.

Hello Radinoz,
I also check the 20 minutes website.
I found a solution a long time ago to avoid pop-ups. --► Log in with Google.
Same on the site --► L'équipe.

It happens in the ad blocker.
A script (a command line) to add. (and it doesn't matter which ad blocker).
Adguard (ad blocker, I have the script) should be prioritized among others, but it's also possible with Ublock or Adblock. Much less effective.
Bye-bye pop-ups.
P.S.:
The ''must'' would be to have a detailed practical sheet Tip/solution CCM to help all participants.
This to get rid of these pop-ups..
It's a question that regularly comes up on all forums.
------------------ --------------------------- ---------------------------
For You Tube it's another story, they have set the bar very high, a question that will undoubtedly come up on CCM or other forums, I've also found the solution, but we don't care much at the moment that's not the issue ..

Windows Solution (W10 or W11)
Cheers
hello pistouri
but you're on a PC, right? (given the screenshot)
I already have AdBlock, it blocks a lot of things but not that one... xD obviously...
I don't know AdGuard, I will try to download it, thanks.
edit: is there a difference between the premium version and the pro version?
PC indeed. (solution found)
Hence my response that it is for Windows 10 or W11.
The statement from the participant does not specify whether it's Windows or a mobile phone.
I understood Windows, not on smartphone,
I think it's on Windows. (10 or 11)
If I'm wrong, the participant will correct me.
Just install the browser extension
No need for Premium or Pro of Adguard
And configure the extension (block the maximum number of boxes)

Thank you. I installed the free version on my iPhone…
On iPhone, when the pop-up appears, just tell AdGuard to block it (by clicking on it), and it should work afterwards… at least for now, it seems like it is. I will let you know in 2-3 days if that's the case… ;)
The author of the post hasn't come back, but I think we can mark it as resolved. It worked for me... the banner hasn't come back since this post and the manual blocking of the banner... (and thank you for the various steps to follow below). I'll keep the post handy... ;)
48 hours later at Mozilla:
----------------------------------------------
...
A simple ad blocker is enough to ignore the message --► "Sign in with Google"
Firefox :
For example --► AdGuard AdBlocker
Coupled with --► I still don't care about cookies
Info :
Do not install this extension ---► I don't care about cookies
Why? :
Bought by Avast !!!!!!
Avast means personal data theft.
Avast is not new to this, nor will it be the last…
For the theft of personal data.
Damn Avast, despicable!
Caution.
In the end, my preference goes to ---►I don't care about cookies
After many attempts.
For Twitter :
It's normal to have this message.
Twitter offers several login modes.
Ublock Origin
With the Ublock Origin ad blocker, you need to add blocking lines to the filters.
Add this to your "My filters" section in ublock origin :
Or
Or
Or
Yeah!!!, it works.
"Sign in with Google" will then be a bad memory!
The problem is that you have to disable the ad blocker extension to access comments (on the team site) because it blocks access to the Google account.
So it’s nice to get two birds with one stone using ad blockers, but there will always be a catch (to access certain comments as mentioned).
This solves the problem, but you have to pay the price (if you have to disable the extension) according to your reading needs.
It is also possible to minimize pop-ups in your Google account:
Adguard Script (all browsers).
Adguard adblocker
I found how to remove the notification
With my ad blocker '' adguard adblocker ' --► Enable filtering on this site
Option in the right-click menu.
I deleted or cleared the cache (from Firefox) and the notification no longer returns.
Where to add this line in the custom filters (not sure)
Bye-bye pop-ups
--------------
Also look into Privacy Badger (Firefox)

You should make a post in the tips and solutions forum and copy/paste all that over there too ;)
Indeed, it would take a good Samaritan to tackle this.
And to finish the job:
With uBlock Origin
Remove the pop-up "sign in to Google" with the uBlock Origin extension
Add these command lines to the uBlock Origin filters:
---------------------------------
Close and restart Firefox.
Additional precision with the extension ►AdGuard AdBlocker
Activate the filter → Nuisances
It helps:
You still have to know it!

It's a shame that a Tip/Solution CCM sheet wasn't published in February 2023
And it's not easy to create a CCM sheet as it seems at first glance. (from experience as a CCM Contributor).
Even if it means modifying it.
So we will settle for this post rich in lessons.
To keep this post handy.
Hello
If you don't want to be tracked, the best thing is not to browse, because quite a few other things will trace you anyway. Moreover, not having an account does not guarantee at all that you won't be tracked; on the contrary, your browser will do it anyhow, whether you're logged in or not.
You can use private mode if you are using Chrome (as you didn't specify the browser) https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464?hl=fr&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid
It’s not so bad, but even so, even your Internet Service Provider knows everything you do (but generally they don’t care).
If you want true "anonymity", use Tor. But it's slower.
Best regards
Thank you Madmyke, I use Mozilla Firefox and Lilo to avoid being monitored by Google.
Hello,
As madmyke pointed out, we are always being tracked by someone or something, but Firefox has no reason to invoke Google if the default search engine is something else, unless a Google service running in the background (for example, Gmail) means that we are logged into our Google account, but then we are just looking for a stick to fight with...
When I visit the "20 minutes" website, the request to log in to Google appears on every page. You have to close it each time.
Hello
Other than that, does anyone know how to permanently remove the "sign in to Google" pop-up (which reappears regularly, not every day, but often enough to annoy me)?
I would really appreciate it if there was a solution...
;)
Hello,
As mentioned, the situation does not exist if you do not have an active Google account/Google search engine.
If not, a pop-up blocker or script blocker is enough:
https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-37782761-fenetre-se-connecter-avec-google
The "before connecting" pop-up will reappear only once when we delete the Google Cookies (for example, automatically when closing the browser) and log back in; it may meet the same fate:
https://www.malekal.com/comment-supprimer-la-popup-avant-de-continuer-de-google/
well actually not... I have the pop-up on Safari with my iPhone (never on Google Chrome for example, makes sense...)... and it appears very regularly (2-3 times a week > but I don't clear my cookies that often)...
the only thing that might possibly have a link is that I am logged into YouTube via the app (on my iPhone), but not on the search engine... other than that... although I can always try to clear the entire cache of the iPhone to see if it changes anything...
On a a phone, I just dodge it; I use it very little for Internet, but I suppose the logic must be the same, installing an ad blocker.
