Good evening,

I suspect it's because of the "Trial Version," but I'm not sure.

I would gladly suggest AOMEI to you.

For my part, I use "Acronis True Image" from the archives in ISO file format; it is my preference, and I have never had any bad surprises...

https://archive.org/download/acronis_2021/AcronisTrueImage2021.iso

However, its menus are in English... Sorry.

Here is what I found on the macrium forum... Francisée..!

You posted this in a Cloning section of the forum, but you then stated that "during one of my automatic backups, the backup failed" - but from your description of the end result, it's a cloning job that failed, not an image backup. Is that correct? I'm just trying to understand because the distinction between certain terminologies can be important here. A clone is not a backup, and it should not be used as such, precisely because of the risk that every time you start a cloning task, you might put your existing "backup" in an unusable state and hope that the cloning task you just started succeeds so that it becomes usable again, because if it fails, you will have no "backup". The even greater risk is if the SOURCE disk fails during a cloning task. If that had occurred here, you would have neither a "backup" nor a usable original, meaning nothing at all. This risk does not exist with image backups, and that is why clones should not be considered an appropriate backup solution.

But yes, if the cloning task fails halfway, the destination will not be in a usable state. You should be able to resolve this issue by simply running the cloning task again. If you continue to see errors regarding VSS, try restarting your PC. If it persists even after that, are you using any third-party anti-malware? Sometimes, they interfere with legitimate Reflect operations, and even if things have always worked until now, the fact that anti-malware solutions are constantly updating in the background means that behavior can change even if you haven't done anything yourself.

Look here, https://www.aomei.fr/logiciel-clonage/comment-cloner-disque-dur-windows.html

this "AOMEI backuper" version seems free and without limitation. and in French.

To avoid English, I followed this topic => https://www.ubackup.com/fr/cloner/macrium-reflect-clonage-echoue.html

- Check for defective sectors

- Clean the destination disk

- In Macrium, I selected the "Copy" option, and everything worked well and was copied

- Windows started correctly on the SSD (without any further manipulation of the system file)

The small 500 MB partition reserved for the system took the letter (H:) => there was no letter on the HDD

- Otherwise, I would have chosen AOMEI Backupper Standard which is in French

- Since I had an SSHD before, the time savings are not phenomenal

I haven't checked if the Windows system image has been recreated
