Hello,

On July 5, 2014, I wanted to (as every month) back up my laptop to an external VERBATIM drive: after 10 minutes, the recording, which had started well, interrupted and sent me the following message:

"A snapshot could not be created. Consult the 'VSS' and 'SPP' event logs for more information.
The recording encountered a non-temporary error. If the backup process is restarted, it is likely that the error will occur again.
Details: error code: 0x81000019".

I tried backing up to the VERBATIM external hard drive again, starting the process from the beginning, and this time the backup worked all the way through.
BUT since this incident, I have a message about a serious maintenance problem with my PC and MOST IMPORTANTLY WHEN I CHECK MY COMPUTER'S TREE STRUCTURE, DRIVE "D" IS TOTALLY in RED (For my PC, this D drive is the system backup drive of my HP computer).

I don't know what this error code means and especially why my drive D is now in red. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

    Hello,

    for your D: drive, you should have folders under "pc name," which are created by Windows' automatic backup.

    You can disable it or configure it as you wish:

    to disable or modify this backup:

    Control Panel -> System and Security -> Backup and Restore

    Left column: Disable scheduling.

    Then, you can delete them or keep only the latest one, for example.

      Thank you for the advice, as I replied to "antipolis", my problem is solved, but I did what you advised me, indeed I don't need planning since I do it myself.

    Sorry, "PCP" simply meant "PC" (I didn't invent a new acronym, there are already enough of those).
    In any case: good news: drive D no longer appears in red since I went and "fiddled" with the properties of that drive.
    But since I did several checks in the properties of my drive D, I can't say what made everything return to normal.
    My external drive still had 145GB free, and my PC totals 71GB, so I don't think it's a space issue.
