Unable to launch The Sims 3

Hello,

Taking advantage of some Steam promotions, I treated myself to a good old game: The Sims 3!

The installation went smoothly, the launcher appears, but when I click "play," the launcher disappears, there’s a brief loading screen, then... nothing!

I’ve tried the simplest things like going to my files to launch the application in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or 8 (because there’s no such option via Steam), but nothing works!

I am currently on Windows 10 with an Intel i7 12700K and a GeForce 3060 Ti.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately nothing new. My hardware is freshly acquired and probably too powerful for an old game I guess?

Hello,

Apparently the game does not work with a 12th generation Intel like the I7 12700K...

A patch could make it compatible

But this is not an official fix, and nothing guarantees its safety or effectiveness...

Hello again,

Is it really worth it to bear these fruits! The game is launching! It’s not the smoothest, which is a shame considering that my computer is 10 times more powerful than back in the day, but it really does the job.

Thank you for your invaluable help :)
