WiFi Connection Issues on Lenovo P11 Plus

Hello

I can no longer connect my Lenovo P&& tablet to my Freebox Wi-Fi network... my laptop and phone connect without any problem...

In the "Network and Internet" tab, my Freebox network appears but does not connect automatically like before despite the "Automatically detect" option being checked. And with every attempt, I have to retype the connection password without success...

Do you have any idea?

Thank you in advance

Hello,

You say: "no longer connects automatically like before" before what...? What happened that changed everything and that you're not mentioning...? Maybe that's where you need to look?

Your phone and your PC surely have something that your tablet doesn't...?

Let's also say that it connects to your FreeBox (and not your neighbor's), but you don't talk about this FreeBox... What model is it...? That's the most important point of your connection.

Hello

Thank you for your reply

It no longer connects automatically like it used to...:) It's the tablet that my 9-year-old daughter uses to play games on Google Play, so she might have pressed something by mistake, I don't know...

My Freebox is a Freebox Revolution via fiber...

OK, there are several Freebox Révolution... Here's a video to access the Wi-Fi settings of the Révolution V.6, but you should be able to find your way... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OQgNGhqrP4

Change the channel to avoid saturation, you can choose 11 for example, it's often less crowded.

-- On the tablet: in the settings, you should find your Wi-Fi in "Available Networks," select it, and save it...

Go to the BOX, press WPS... a light will blink... for a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes to connect.

Return to your tablet and click on "Connect"... normally, it should connect automatically and after 10 minutes, the WPS will end, you need to connect during this time...

If it doesn't work with your tablet...? you need to enter the key manually, without making a mistake, and save it so that it reconnects automatically.

It's possible that the arrival of the new BOX has changed things... I hope it will be fine...

Good evening

thank you for your reply

you're talking about the arrival of the new box but we've had it for a year and it was working very well just 15 days ago... I don't know what happened...

I'll check your WPS issue tomorrow, I didn’t have time this weekend :)

Hello

I revisited the question...

In the Freebox settings, I first changed the name and password for the connection... after which I connected both our phones and our computer without any problem to the new network name with its new password... the tablet sees the new name, but when I try to connect by entering the new password, nothing happens...

Then I went to the radio settings, but where you recommended I choose channel 11, for a bandwidth of 80MHz (compared to 20MHz in the video you linked me), the channels offered are 36, 44, 48... up to 100... it is currently set to automatic...

It's all quite complicated...

And I tried connecting via hotspot with my iPhone, but that doesn't work either... I have the impression that it's the tablet that's the issue... Lenovo P11 Plus... but there’s not much in the settings...

Given what you said, "bandwidth of 80MHz (compared to 20MHz in the video you sent me)", you would be connected on the 5GHz frequency... check in your tablet's connection... and select the 2.4GHz frequency and channel 11, not automatic.

The choice of channel 11 must also be applied in the Wi-Fi settings of the FreeBox, in the 2.4 Wi-Fi.

Wait 5 minutes... restart the tablet, check in Wi-Fi, it should be connected on 2.4.

You are right, in the Freebox settings I see "5GHz Wi-Fi card / 802.11ac" enabled but I don’t see how to switch to 2.4GHz... neither in the Freebox menu nor on my tablet :(

In the advanced menus, there is a column that should be called Wifi and everything that revolves around it... And there should be two types of wifi that you can configure, change the name and even the wifi key...

Watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OQgNGhqrP4 the same as in POST 3

At minute 2:30 of the video, you can see on the left the two types of wifi frequency... You need to click on one or the other to select it... if we are indeed talking about the same BOX; because "revolution" is not enough, there are several.

It must not be the same because in the left column of the advanced wifi settings of the Free, I only have the 5GHz frequency...

All BOXES from all ISPs use these two frequencies... your Freebox Revolution should have a version number... which should be displayed somewhere... I cannot guide you on that, I don't have a Freebox... I chose version 6 which seems to be quite common... thinking that it would be easy for you to make the transposition

Re: switch from 5GHz to 2.4GHz

The simplest thing is to dissociate the two: 2.4 and 5 GHz.

To do this, go to http://mafreebox.freebox.fr/, in the Freebox Settings tab.
Go to the Wi-Fi tab and select the Wi-Fi Card 2.4G / 802.11n.

You just have to enter a different key from the 5G, Apply and OK.

From then on, enter this new key into the Wi-Fi connection of your printer and you're good to go...

DO NOT FORGET TO select on the right of the option Specific Configuration for the card in the configuration choice menu, to properly differentiate the names and options for each card.

Hello

Once again, thank you for your help...

On mafreebox.freebox, I reach the same page as in the example you provided, but only the 5GHz network appears on the left... no sign of 2.4GHz...

The serial number of my box is 762601L221404990 software version 4.7.6. I don't know if that means anything to you...:(

hi to both of you,

@ oliverlee

to find out the model of your Freebox, go to mafreebox.freebox (Freebox OS) and log in

on the page that opens, click on "Freebox status"

in the first tab (Diagnostic), look at the line "hardware version"

in the image

mine is 1 Revolution version 2

re

on myfreebox.freebox, I get to the same page as in the example you gave me, but only the 5GHz card appears on the left... no trace of 2.4GHz...

ok, and don’t you see the 2 networks (2.4 and 5 GHz) when you go to Wifi ==> card status?

hello

No no, I only have the 5GHz card that appears...

I solved my problem by resetting my tablet... probably corrupted files brought by Google Play games :-(

So the Freebox had nothing to do with it, but I'd really like to be able to connect my network in 2.4GHz... the connection with my decoder over WiFi isn't very stable; maybe that's where the issue lies?

re

ok for the tablet

the connection with my decoder over Wi-Fi isn't very stable

what decoder is this?

the Player for the Freebox TV?

it's not normal that the 2.4GHz doesn't show up

yes, sorry, it's the player from the Freebox.

for example, last night we stopped watching a movie on Freebox Replay because it kept bugging...

re

my freebox is a freebox revolution via fiber...

mine too, so our boxes are identical and equipped with fiber

how did you connect your player from the box?

with freeplugs? (personally, that's what I use at home)

despite not using the 2.4GHZ connection, it is present on the Wifi page

have you had fiber for a long time?

have you ever had similar issues with the connection (TV or other devices)?

hello

yes I'm using the free plugs.

I tried resetting and still no 2.4GHz...

I had some issues with freezing video on Freebox Replay but not all the time...

I think I'm going to contact them...

thanks

re

I think I'm going to contact them...

I believe it's the best solution

apparently the Face to Face service is no longer available, but check this page to see the "package" that suits you to reach them ==> click here

let us know how it goes

thank you
